As with most terminals, the experience when you get off the ship is different than when you board. While the boarding side of the terminal is filled with modern style, the debarkation area is decidedly more utilitarian. If you plan on driving to the port the night before your cruise, I highly recommend booking a cruise near the port that offers “park and cruise” packages. Some will even offer a “fly, snooze, park, and cruise” packages so you can book it all through the hotel.
