Port Canaveral Parking with Cruise Transfers

If fully staffed, any security lines should be short for boarding. Arriving at the terminal, you start to get a sense of the size of the facility. Given the size of Mardi Gras, a large terminal was needed to service the ship and the more than 10,000 passengers that could be embarking and debarking in a single day. To handle that traffic, the terminal is 185,000 square feet, making it the largest at Port Canaveral. They change partners and rates quite often and it is hard to keep up with their parking options! Please visit their respective websites for the latest choices.

"Official" Port Canaveral Parking

To exit the terminal you have to turn right after exiting the garage then right again as you loop around to the traffic light and highway. If you want the most convenience, check out parking at the actual port. Yes, it’s more expensive, but you can walk right to the ship. It also makes it easier to get back home when you return from your trip. If you are staying in the Port Canaveral area, see our list of hotels that will allow you to park your car for the length of your cruise. Note that some hotels require you to book a package to receive parking.

As with most terminals, the experience when you get off the ship is different than when you board. While the boarding side of the terminal is filled with modern style, the debarkation area is decidedly more utilitarian. While the initial check-in area and security screening is fairly utilitarian, passing through security you get a better feel for the style of the new terminal. Thanks to this location, it should be easier to get to without the traffic you might encounter on a busy day near other terminals clustered closer together. Still, if you’re unfamiliar with the area getting to your ship can be a little confusing.

Start your cruise vacation by staying a few days in Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach!

Just get yourself to the correct terminal and the attendants will show you where to drop your luggage, where to park, how to pay, etc. If you are driving in, your parking decision rests mainly on if you want to save money or want convenience. For those looking to save, we suggest parking at an off-site parking lot.

Cruise Terminal B is where you can also go for a bite to eat, to see the port at the Exploration Tower, or check out CT-3, our brand-new multi-million dollar spot for the largest ships. Terminal A is less exciting, but it hosts more ships as well as the cargo piers. That’s where our local Port Canaveral cruise parking facilities come in.

A few restrooms are also available within parking garages. Porters are available at each cruise terminal to assist with luggage. Metered taxi service and rideshare services are readily available at MCO. Passengers are picked up on the second level on the arrivals curb. If you're flying into Orlando with time to spare, a nice option is to rent a car there, use it to explore the area around the Cape then return it at the port before your cruise. The parking fee is waived for vehicles with special equipment, such as wheelchair ramps and lifts, or to those with Florida exemption permits.

Port Canaveral Cruise Parking for Disabled Passengers

We recommend you tip the driver when you arrive at the port, especially if you have some luggage carted below the bus. Parking is free for the disabled if the vehicle is equipped with things like ramps, lifts, etc.  If you have a Florida Toll Exemption permit parking is also free at the port. Popular cruise lines like Disney Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruise Line, and Norwegian Cruise Line all sail out of this popular port.

After getting off the ship, you’ll head down the stairs, elevator, or sloped walkway to the luggage pick-up area. One smart detail of the terminal is the introduction of large stainless steel tables, greatly increasing the amount of luggage that can fit in the terminal. During our tour we were told that CT3 can hold up to 10,000 pieces of baggage. Stop and hand your luggage to an attendant who will place it in a cart to be delivered to the ship. Oversized vehicles such as RVs must park in open-surface lots nearby.

If you plan on driving to the port the night before your cruise, I highly recommend booking a cruise near the port that offers “park and cruise” packages. Some will even offer a “fly, snooze, park, and cruise” packages so you can book it all through the hotel. Hyatt Regency is right inside the airport (literally inside) so the only shuttle service required is your two legs. It’s a very convenient option for those wanting to simplify things.
